The TDSP Areas in Texas
The TDSP regions in Texas listed above are where the prior monopoly energy\utilities were located. They are still located there but now only sale electricity. They do not deliver this electricity via the pole and wires or maintain the lines. For instance, TXU pole and wires company broke off and are now called Oncor Electric Delivery. They legally can have no connection to TXU the energy company. The reason for the complete disconnection from the affiliate company is so there is no special relationship or favoritism given to TXU by Oncor. The relationship is now gone between the pole and wires company and the energy company. The TDSP charges are now past through on your bill but represent a different company then the Retail Electric Provider.
